Happy Snow Day- Feb. 27, 2020.

I hope everyone that was not at school had a fun and safe day today!

We will have time tomorrow to finish the Solar System projects.

We will also continue with Social Studies presentations tomorrow- remember your costumes!

Happy National Cupcake Day!

Thank you everyone that has supported Mackenzie and her goal to raise awareness for the Ontario SPCA! With all of the support that she has received so far she is at $2, 408.00!!!!! That's $408.00 above her 3rd goal! She is also the top fundraiser in all of Canada! Crazy! Thank you so much for your support!

Quiz's are coming back today, please sign and return. Retest will be on Friday Feb. 28. 
We will be starting Fractions hopefully on Wednesday, please feel free to introduce students to fractions at home (money, baking, cooking, cutting food up into fractions, pizza, etc.)

Literacy:
Fairy Tales (creative) Due on Friday, presentations start on Monday. Creative assignment should be uploaded to your google drive. 

Social Studies:
Presentations will begin on Wednesday, review the rubric! There is a mark for props (costumes)!

French:

New Due Dates... Written is due by the end of class on Wednesday Feb. 19 (class time to write if needed). Some people have already finished writing, so they will have time to memorize.
Presentations begin on Wednesday Feb. 26! Memorization, costume, extra stuff is always good!

Science:
Due Thursday Feb. 27 at the end of class!

Health:
We are going to work on Collages on Tuesday, if you have magazines that we can cut up, please bring them in!

Literacy:
Literature Circles will be finished by Thursday Feb. 21, final book talk will be on Tuesday Feb. 25.
We will then finish off our Fairy Tales and present them. Finished before March Break!
Our next unit will be another Literature Circle- independently selected books and an Exposition essay.

French:

Valentine's Dance-a-thon is on FRIDAY!!! Feel free to still bring in donation money for the dance. All of the money collected comes directly back to the school in the form of technology, math manipulatives, library, physical education equipment, etc.

As you know Mackenzie is raising money for National Cupcake Day which is for the SPCA. I will be bringing Cupcakes in on Friday. If anyone would like to make a donation for a cupcake please bring in a donation on Friday. Here is the link to her youtube video from the SPCA:

Wednesday Feb. 5, 2020.

Happy Wednesday, for everyone that is sick, I hope you can recover over the next 4 days and we will see you back healthy and strong on Monday! For the students that are going away, have an AMAZING trip and we'll see you when you get back!

Homework:
Math:
Math tests are coming home tonight, please sign and return. We took them in class therefore all corrections should have been made on the test. Re-test will be on Friday!
Our next unit is the second unit of Geometry. In this unit we will be drawing different cube structure shapes, drawing shapes from top, side, back, and front views as well as tranformations, rotations, and reflections of shapes across the coordinate grid.

Literacy:
Literature Circle Role Sheets are due on Monday morning! (rough copy for feedback)

Social Studies:
Students can research and begin writing their monologue or poem for the final assignment. This was originally due next Thursday, it will be moved to the following week.

Science:
We began creating the solar systems today, they look great so far! Some students did not bring in their supplies, they MUST have all of their supplies for class on Monday. This is their final assignment for space, it can only be created at school, in class. Therefore, if they do not bring supplies they will not be able to complete this assignment. 

Monday Feb. 3, 2020.

Math Tests are done! For anyone that has missed it will write it when they get back.
Literature Circle Role Sheets will be due Thursday morning if there is not a strike, if there is a strike we will figure it out!
